Caden's solo visit

Grandpa and I had the great pleasure of having Caden spend
some one on one time with us for THREE days!   We loved it!

Scott, Baby Gabe and Caden at Katie's.
We picked Caden up at Katie's and went to see "Tarzan:
The Musical" ...put on by Spanish Fork Community Theater.

The next day, Grandpa took Caden fishing up to Mammoth Lake.
(I had bus in-service all day. :(

They saw a beaver dam that is inhabited.

They had to hold up in the trees while it rained and hailed.

 But...they did catch some fish!

There was only one that got away and it took Grandpa's small net with it.

Caden helped Grandpa gut the fish, but he didn't like it.

The next day we stopped to see Grandma Anna.

We delivered the beautiful table cloth Janna designed and made for her.
Below are some close-ups of the details.

This shows the entire table cloth.

This is Grandma opening the very un-fancy garbage bag wrapping job.

Here's Grandma inspecting it after it was on her table.  It fit so well
you'd think Janna had measured the table three different times. :)

Grandma just couldn't figure out why Janna
would do something so beautiful for her.

Watch for it when you next visit Grandma Anna.

Our next stop was in Spanish Fork to pick up Bethany and SJ.
Caden and Sarah-Jane at Bethany's home.

You'd think this two had lived together for a few weeks.

Then we stopped at the Mellors and traded Caden for Haylie.
The boys went to the Provo Rec Center for the afternoon.
Dallin, Hayden, Tyler, Caden and Kaleb.

The girls went to Little Mermaid Jr.  at the
Hale Theater with Grandma and Bethany. :)

Here's the girls with Flotsam, Jetsam and Ursula, the Sea Witch!

Here's the girls with Flounder, Sebastian, and Scuttle.

Here's the girls with some "sea scenery."

 These are Ariel's sisters.

Of course we had to go for a Frosty on the way home.
Can you tell what flavor they picked?

 SJ demonstrating a brain-freeze bite!

Hayden came home with us for a sleep-over at the end of the
day and we stopped in to see Grandpa. It was chore time!

The boys had to see Grandpa's two little pigs.
It was sad when we met Scott at
Katie's the next day so they could fly out.

Joyce's 55th birthday

Dad and I hosted Joyce's 55th birthday party on July 12th.
Joyce invited her own quests.

I made her birthday cake.  It was her favorite kind...
like her Mom made her when she was young.

Guests: Russ, Boyd, Marge, Dawn, Joe and Magdeline

Guests: Bishop Hone, Beth, Dad, and Cheryl.
Terry, Stacy and I were also there!

Ute Stampede Weekend 2015

LEVAN 2nd WARD'S NIGHT WAS THURSDAY, July 9th.

Do you know any of these guys?

This is the shack where the real GRILL MASTERS worked.

These men put out over 1200 perfectly grilled burgers that night.

The assembly crew was sparse, but efficient.

Tyler and his cousin Jake saw a need and offered
their help while waiting for the rodeo to begin.

They bagged burgers like pro's and go us through the rush hour.

In addition, our shack sold 20 boxes of pizza and bags of nachos.

During the Ute Stampede weekend, we went to Robinsons to bid farewell to
Bryana, who left for China on July 14th to teach for the next six months.
Check out her blog: http://bryanagoes2china.blogspot.com/

This is two old cowboys duded up for the final night of the Stampede.

Neither Dad nor I had ever gone to the rodeo on Saturday night,
so we got tickets and went...just the two of us...all alone.  It was fun!
Honoring the different military branches. (The sailor is Paul Garrett from Levan.)

The weather was settled enough for the annual sky jumper to present the flag.

The Guard gathered up the flag before his parachute hit the ground.

What I love most about cowboys is that they tend to be patriots as well.

This clown was funny and clean.  Wow!!

He was Evil Kenivel.

I watched my Dad calf rope many, many times.  He was good!

Clowning around can be dangerous.
