July 24th started with a 5K run/walk for 12 of us.

Ben took first place over all. He beat Jake Morgan,
who has a cross country scholarship to Weber State. :)
Ben came home with a metal and twenty dollars cash!

Each of the Mitchell's garnered a metal in some area.
Clarance Paystrup was honored as the Grand Marshall for the day, at the
flag raising. We delivered the blueberry pies Janna and Laura made for
the bake sale and hurried home for a BIG breakfast. Then we hustled to
get ready for the Levan 24th parade. Our theme for 2013 was
"Warriors: Past, Present & Future!

Following the parade we came home for a mid
day break, lunch and a visit with Grandpa Marvin.

The pies were frozen cream pies featuring 3000 calories each.
After about 10 minutes, contestants were allowed to pick up their pies.
Next came the greased pig chase!

Hayden was a co-catcher in this division, but the lost the pig in a coin toss! :(
You can tell that he was a super good sport about it.
Tyler and Andrew were in the next division. They had a plan to work together.

This is the senior division. There is no doubt about who is the fastest!
The third little piggy is on the run! Ben saved us alot of work by not catching the pig.
Grandpa paid his entrance fee because he was certain who would be raising the pig.
The day ended with dinner at the park, a Junior Talent show, a dance and fireworks.
