THE ICE HORSE SCULPTURE -Jan. 5, 2016

The HIGHLIGHT of our snow day was the snow horse.
Artist Malea is there from the beginning.

Co-artist Bethany and assistant SJ were on the production crew.

The mighty snow horse begins to emerge.

The finishing touches were made just before dusk.

The Master piece with the Master sculptors.

Details of the critter.

The last step was to bath with gallons of water to preserve it.

SNOW DAY IN LEVAN

The New Year began with sub-zero temperatures, but on our snow day
with the Wilkins the temperatures were over freezing part of the day.

Powell Lane (courtesy of Colton.)

This is the part of the day affectionately called:  "The Colton Attack!"

The "python" was to quick, not to mention more warmly dressed.

Just say, "UNCLE."

Bethany's horses were included in the snow day.  This is Gabe, Malea and Apples.
Don't worry...the snowsuit was borrowed!

Cherokee takes the kids for a quick ride.

SJ is becoming a real cowgirl.

Bethany has turned Apples into a sleigh horse.

Grandpa took the kids for a tube ride. (Leia, Sarah-Jane and Luke)
Most of the pictures from this day were taken by Colton.  Thanks!

Ice Fishing 1/4/16

Steve Bateman took Colton and Malea ice fishing down to Fish Lake on 1/4/16.
Steve instructs Colton in the art of ice hole digging.

Colton caught the BIGGEST fish of the day.

Malea catches a small perch.

With a double hook, she caught two fish at the same time.

Steve was willing to clean the trout before leaving the lake.

One more photo before they pull the sleds back to the truck for the trip home.

Colton and Malea were pretty tickled about their catch that day.  (40+ fish in all)
Sarah-Jane was very interested in the fish.  She helped eat some, too.
