April odds and ends

A progress report on Ed Aagard's house.

It burned down in March.

The log kit came in April.

Work is under way!

This is Zander Marvin.  He is Uncle Blake's grandson.  

Carl is his dad. We visited them and dropped off a gift.  

We were pleasantly surprised by what we found at Carl's 

apartment.  We wish them ALL the best.

We finally got all the needed fittings and 

pipe to put our nine-square game up.

 

We had Andrea and friends down for a FHE during finals.

They were the first to try out 9-square.  This is Cody!

On my 1st April trip to Richfield I 

was able to visit my dear friend, Lydia.

Knowing her has added beauty and 

dimension to the tapestry of my life.

My 2nd trip to Richfield was with the boy's tennis team.

These show Jarom Robinson, who took first 

in his division of the region tournament.

Part of the time the boys were playing in snow!

It was a stinkin' cold day!

Other Florida Fun

Dirt and 4 years olds seem to find each other....to their delight.

The Brahma herd interests me every time we pass.

Is is possible to go to Florida without a trip to the beach?

The tide was high and the surf was up on this day.

We found a windrow of coarsely crushed shells along the beach.

It wasn't pleasant to walk through bare foot.

As you can see, it was a busy day at the beach.

I found the perfect shell for SJ that day.  Of course it 

was at a store and not the beach. She wanted her own 

shell that allowed her to hear the ocean any time she wanted.  

It was for her "display" shelf.

FOR FHE we harvested palm fronds for sliding down the slide.

This is Taylor harvesting some fronds.

Ammon was one of the first to demonstrate how to do it.

Sadly, it was so exciting that he had a little accident near
the end, so his mom quickly designed a black garbage
bag outfit so the fun could continue.

It was a fun activity to remember the events of palm Sunday.

This is the current shell pit on the ranch.

We actually found some amazing shells!

Best of all, they are petrified shells!

I carried several home in my 35 pound carry on.

The contents consisted of grapefruit, shells and chocolate!

Brevard County Zoo trip

The Brevard County Zoo is one of my favorite zoos ever!

Janna is always on call!

The animals are always visible and active in their habitat friendly homes.

 

The train allows you to enjoy the vegetation as well as the animals.

This is a selfie on the train.

The lady laughing here and her two boys become friends 

because Ammon took the lead.  Janna ended up exchanging info 

with this lady and invited them to come and tour the ranch.  

That is member missionary work in action! 

We got to see them feeding the road runners little bugs.

Abby and I love the petting zoo.

Abby is holding a small water critter.

Visiting the birds is an adventure because
you are in the cage with them.

 One of the birds had hopes for a future family.

Now all we need to do is learn to fly!

I got to feed the attack birds.

None landed on my head this visit.

Their red eyes give cause to wonder about them.

This is the big male giraffe.  He takes care of his family by eating.

People pay to feed him and that takes care of the whole herd.

Sweet potatoes were on the menu that day.

 

Abby got to feed him, too.
