Father's Day 2017

We had all of our Utah family home on Father's 

Day for dinner and an evening in the yard.

Grandpa liked his shirt.                 Check out Kaleb's finger!

Most went in together to get Grandpa a new 

AC unit for his shop and a new tent.

Beth was able to pick her kids up at 7:00 that evening.

We had bubbles.

Brenda attacked Tyler so he had to take her down.

Neldon was the referee.

Actually it took the whole family to take Ty.

The girls loved the kittens.

The boys loved them, too.

Riding lessons in the barnyard

Bethany gave private riding lessons to a friend from Payson, daughter.  

That's when SJ took an interest in her pony and got some free lessons of her own.

Hans got tired of being a spectator, so he took a turn.

Bethany's 30th birthday

We actually had three parties for Bethany. We had friends down for ice cream the night before.  We took her out to breakfast and to a movie on her birthday, and the pictures below are from the party SJ and I planned for when she and Hans returned from their summer visit with their dad the day after her birthday. 

Bethany made her own carrot cake, but SJ and I decorated it.

First Annual Davis Family Picnic----June 10

We gathered in Canyon Park, near the mouth of Spanish Fork, Canyon on June 10th for the FIRST EVER Davis Family Picnic. It lasted only a few hours, but there is a certain kind of joy that is saved for big family gatherings and it makes any effort to make it happen worth it. There were more from the Marvin branch than any of the others.  There were alot of conflicts that day, but it happened!

We played 9-square.

We visited and rubbed shoulders.

Bethany was able to pick up her kids for the day.

There was little doubt that Grandpa 

and Hans had missed each other.

The highlight was the program. Each branch of the family honored their 

parent with a song that reminded them of that parent and some experiences 

to share why.  We chose "I Love to See the Temple."  We shared all the 

connections Grandma M had with the Payson Temple before and after she 

passed away.  It was interesting that three of the four chose a Primary Song. 

None of us will ever forget that an Apostle and old friend , 

Elder Dallin H.  Oaks, visited Grandma the day of the Payson 

Temple Ground Breaking.  He gave her a blessing that day.

Ten Day Road Trip: Homeward Bound

6/3/2017:  Our goal for the day was just to get home.   

It was a long drive down America’s loneliest highway….the 

famous Highway 50 across Nevada.  We came through Delta 

and on home.  We were earlier enough to pick up a few fresh

 things in Nephi and get unpacked and settled at home.  

This is a  medical clinic we passed in one of the very few little 

towns we passed through.  As you can see they live in a different era. 

The salt flats were a welcome site. 

To us this sign said, "Welcome Home!"
