Our trip to San Antonio (Sept. 16-Sept. 21)

Grandpa and I flew to San Antonio for a visit with
Jake and the Potters.

On board and ready to rumble.

Malea and Gil took us to ride the train.

We also visited the Japanese Tea Gardens
which began as a cement plant site.

Malea and Gil also took us to two missions in the area.

A prayer grove near the chapel.

Mission San Jose was our 2nd stop.

It reminded us for Cove Fort.

We enjoyed the River Walk and The Alamo another day.

On our way to find a boarding spot we saw
crews working to clean the river.

This is where we boarded. Colton and Gil on board
the boat.    We rode a boat like the green one you see.

SITE ALONG THE WAY!

This is the stage where part of Miss Congeniality was filmed.

We saw several beautiful bridges.

This fence is just outside a church were couples can be
married. They can put a combination lock on this fence to
symbolize their hearts and lives being bound forever.
Our guide said he had three locks on the fence.

An optical illusion made this building look 2-D and flat.

Darrel and I headed for the Alamo.

Remember the Alamo?

Colton took us on a tour of the USAA headquarters

This is a place of innovation!
Each leaf represents a patent from an employee.

The first car insured by USAA.

Jake, Me and Dad.

Jake took us to his favorite store.

The last morning the boys took a trip while
Malea and I went to their R.S. super Saturday.
