The January Thaw

Our snow pack here is near record levels.

January was a great month for snow storms.

But.....we also had the traditional January Thaw!

built at the end of December in honor of

Elder Benjamin Darrel Mitchell's mission.

The thaw was not kind!

This is the flying snow pig.  It is a visual reminder that not all weight loss is pretty. 

As Laura pointed out, if you take it too seriously you could lose your head,

not to mention your curly tail.  Some things are meant to be fat!

Katie's 27th birthday celebration

We hosted a birthday party for Katie here in Levan on January 20th. (Her birthday is on January 19th, but we left that day open for Tyler and the kids.)We had hoped the Mellors would join us, but they didn't make it. 

The first order of business was an adventure on the pig!

Snow man building was the finale of the outdoor fun.

           Tyler built a tiny snow man

for each of his helpers. :)

THE FLYING SNOW PIG

In honor of Karrie, Bethany and SJ created a giant flying snow pig!

My job was to keep the sled filled with snow.

                                                    Grandpa and Wil were the supervisors.                                        

   Notice Beth's ultimate carving took!

This pink color was a result of turning the Christmas lights on just at dusk. :)

SJ took time to do some sledding 

when the more technical process began.

Ginny was the rescue dog at the end.
