4/1//18: Wednesday we took Dad to the Provo City Center Temple,
because Payson is closed for cleaning.
No matter what temple we go to he runs into people he has worked with in
the temple and they greet as old friends.
My Dad has impacted a lot of lives in a very positive way. I was grateful to see that and know that for
myself. I also had an insight in the
session that I have pondered on for months.
That was a thrill.
We took Dad to Provo Temple the following week.
I looked over at him at the beginning of the
session and he was
mouthing every word spoken.
That gave me a thrill. I was
filled with
gratitude for his recovery and the restoration of those sacred
memories.
Clay Christianson retired as the Tabernacle Organist. I will always
remember him because he lived in Payson when I was a teenager.
He was our ward organist. He had a whole flock of little kids
and he needed milk for them. My Dad offered to give him milk
in return for organ lessons for me. I met with Clay once or twice and
then threw a fit and refused to go. I have regretted that many, many times.
There's always fun in the transportation department.

This is the quilt I designed and pieced together for his retirement gift.
Zac and Maegan got their new baby this month.
Her name is Navy Mae. She was one of 2 baby girls
we know of who was born on Jake's birthday this year.
The other one was Colton's sister baby.
Darrel and I were elected county and state delegates for the Republican party.
That required alot of time, prayer and thought, but it was rewarding.
Mike Kennedy is the Candidate we felt impressed to support
for Utah's Senate race to replace Orin Hatch. I had Sarah Hunt design this flyer
to support his campaign against Mitt Romney. I felt very strongly about it.
We met Mia Love at our County Convention.
. At State Convention there was a change in the
air as he spoke. His voice and presence
charged the air with the Spirit of patriotism and statesmanship. He more than looked like a dynamic Senator,
he was the very essence of one for that 5 minutes. I actually felt a confirming witness that he
was our best choice. For the first time
in a long time I felt a surge of hope for success politically in our
country. I loved his analogy that we
sometimes feel like David going up against Goliath when we consider the size of
the national debt and the depth of corruption there. He suggested that he was
willing to be the stone to take it down if we would fling him to Washington
with our vote. The air was electrifying.
