December Odds-n-ends

 This is the first photo we got of Valancy Joy.

 Elder Holland is ever a missionary.

 Ammon and Sam loved the snow.   The giving machine at Temple Square. 

We were able to buy a new born resuscitation kit and seeds to plant an acre.

 The Transportation department gave me these sweet gifts at

our annual Christmas breakfast at Mickelsons.

 Dad and I loved the Kurt Bestor Christmas concert.

Thanks to you all for such a fun birthday gift.

Andi Marvin's funeral

Tiny Andi was born premature to Tyler and Quinci Marvin.

She lived 6 weeks and touched many lives.  She passed away

Dec. 20, 2018.  Her chilly graveside services were held

the day after Christmas.

She is buried in Lehi in a section only for babies.

All of her cousins sang at the service.

Andi's Dad spoke as did her Grandpa Heaps.

Grandpa Kent dedicated the grave.

Quinci and Tyler are strong, valiant people.

Christmas Day 2018

CHRISTMAS MORNING 2018

Sarah-Jane got a hatch-imal with several other gifts. 

Hans made a haul as well.

Hans is checking out Grandpa's gear set. 

All our kids started a new collection for us this Christmas.

It is the memorial coin from the missions for us, our children 

and grandchildren.  We anticipate filling the entire display case. 

Andrea and Jordan were here.  They are trying out Han's blanket.

Grandpa and Hans are trying out their new remote control cars.

Hans got a new train set.

Andrea in Scrooge: The Musical at the playhouse in Ogden.

Dad and I drove to Ogden on Dec. 22 for the matinee of Scrooge: The Musical.  It was the final performance for Andrea's cast, and a grand way to celebrate my last bus driving day the day before.  The production was delightful. I've never experienced better than this Scrooge, and their plump, elderly, sugar-plum fairy type "Ghost of Christmas past" was hilarious.

Uncle Dick and Uncle Kieth Retire together

Darrel and I went to see Dick and Kieth honored as they retired.

They worked for the Bureau of Reclamation of water and power.

Each was a BIG DEAL in their department and well respected.

Uncle Dick provided the legal documentation and 

logic when the ownership of Willard Bay was contested.

Uncle Kieth was the first to walk the proposed 

center line of the Jordanelle Reservoir. 

Jordanelle Reservoir is fed and drained primarily by the 

Provo River. Construction of the dam started on 

June 27, 1987 and was completed on April 12, 1993.

Uncle Kieth had 38 years in and deserved to retire at 59.
