Cherokee and Cherokee's Shadow!

Here are a couple of "before" shots of Cherokee.

"Look at me from the side.  Do I look fat to you?"

This was taken less than a week before her "shadow" appeared. 

We got home from our trip to see the Hale Theater production of 

Peter Pan with Tyler and Andrea on the evening of May 31, 2014.  

When Dad went out to do chores.  This is what he found!

ONE DAY OLD

 The first visitors!

Part of the Andersons came down on Sunday 6/2/2014 to visit. 

Aunt Glory and Chica. 

Uncle Story with Baby Chica and Cherokee. 

Dad decided to brush the winter hair off from Cherokee. 
She enjoyed that!

This is Cherokee scratching Chica's back with her teeth.  

We've seen her do this more than once. It is so cute! 

Snacking is Chica's favorite pass time. 

Andersons stayed and visited with us for a while. 

That is a fringe benefit of the new arrival.

DAY TWO: More visitors! 

This is Sadie.  Her mom is Kate Gwilliams.

 Lionel and Linda came down on their 43rd Wedding Anniversary to see Chica.

 Sadie is just a little bit younger than Haylie.  She was fascinated by Chica.

Bee shed project

Dad and I decided to repaint the bee shed this year. 

We seem to have a project or two every spring.

Dad used the Uncles' air compressor to blow the loose paint off. 

It wasn't and easy job! ): 

 But as you can see---The bee shed looks much better.

A mysterious crop circle like message appeared on the south side.  The interpretation was 

clear: "I'd love to be done, but I ran out of paint!" Gratefully, that problem has been solved!

Dad made a metal guard to cover the bottom two slates because they were so water damaged.

 Once it was painted it looks great!

Memorial Day Visits

Dad and I visited four cemeteries this year, starting at Levan Cemetery.

Then we headed for Payson. 

We stopped at Grandpa's to see his baby goats and gather up Andrea, 

Grandpa, Mary, Uncle Kieth and Aunt Annette and Alyssa and family.

Our next stop was Payson Cemetery.

Dad's grandma. She lived with his family and she had a soft spot in her heart for him.

Cousin David's parents. Walter was killed in a farm accident in West Mountain.

By chance...we ran into Luke and his baby girl Theryn.  

She was  sealed to Luke and Marie in the temple on 5/31/14! 

This is one of Grandpa's uncles who never married.  I remember 

him. He gave me my first and only taste of coffee. Yuck!

This is Grandpa Marvin's grandfather.

Next we made our way to Salem Cemetery.

 Birdee, Grandma Marvin's little sister is buried in Salem.  So are Grandpa

 and Grandma Davis. Somehow I failed to get a picture of their headstones.

Our final stop was at Spanish Fork Cemetery.

This is a new headstone for the two above.  They are my great grandparents.

This is a new marker for the grave above. These are my great-great grandparents.  

This is also where we get our Irish blood.  Both were born in Ireland!  

They migrated to Canada during the potato famine.

We should never forget the price of freedom: The blood of the patriots!

Surprise Flowers!

When I climbed off the bus this afternoon. (5/23/14)
There was a BIG box waiting for  me.

It was a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

There was greenery and three different kinds of flowers, with vase & food packet included.

There was a little box of exquisite chocolates!  The caramel ones were to die for.

There was an envelop, but nothing to identify the sender inside.  

The flowers came from San Diego, California, but they could have 

been ordered from any where.  Whoever sent them---just know 

they lifted my spirits and made me feel loved,  and I suspect 

they will for days to come.  Thank You! Love you the most!
