September 3: Amy received her mission call to Sapporo, Japan.

September 4: Tyler Mellor received his endowment in the Provo Temple, prior to leaving on his mission.

September 7: Kimberly Marvin and Ryan Rodney Black were married in the Payson Temple.

September 8: Tyler Mellor spoke in his Mapleton Ward prior to leaving on his mission to Guatemala.

September 9: President Russell M. Nelson turned 95 today and a very impressive celebration was held in the Conference Center in honor of his life on September 6^th.

September 11: Tyler Mellor entered in MTC in Guatemala. He will be one of the last missionaries trained there as it was announced that this facility will close at the end of the year.

September 13: I was given a new temple assignment in honor of Laura’s 42^nd birthday. I was called to serve as Veil Coordinator for our Friday evening shift.

September 16-21: Darrel and I were in Texas with Jake, Malea, Colton and Gil. Jake was honorably released from the Navy on September 18 (My Parent’s 67^th wedding anniversary,) and then re-enlisted for another seven years within 10 minutes. There wasn’t a lot of fanfare but the Spirit of Patriotism that joined us was very evident and served as a witness that his service has been, is and will be a noble use of his life. I also felt the assurance that there will be compensating blessings for his family. We had a wonderful visit, but it was during a tough time for Jake as the sale of their Texas Home included every obstacle imaginable. Meghan and the kids were homeless in Florida awaiting the sale to go through so they could purchase the home they were under contract to buy there. She and the kids drove to the Smith’s and enjoyed a fun week in spite of the dark cloud. Perhaps the highlight of the trip for me was being in the temple with Jake and Malea. The Spirit that Jake carries brings no end of joy to me. He has faced this challenge with humility and faith.
