We followed our usual tradition of attending the Freedom Festival Fireside.
We also took the traditional picture outside of Grandma's house. It was
good to have the Wilkins with us this year!
Andrea had a fireside with Jenny Oaks Baker that evening, but she made
yummy berry ice cream so we'd stop and visit her on our way. IT WORKED!
Here we are in Aunt Andrea's apartment enjoying home made ice cream.
We had super seats this year as you can see from this
picture that features all the flags flown over the United States.
Katie, Leia, Luke and Tyler. We had some fun, single guys sit
behind us. They provided most the pre-event entertainment.
Can you find Senator Mike Lee and his wife and Jason Chaffetz and his wife?
The guest speaker was Laura Bush. She is a tiny, southern, country girl
with a Dolly Parton attitude. Some low class citizen stood and yelled
insults. She remained composed and unruffled as security escorted
him from the hall. The crowd gave her a standing ovation. She shared
some inside stories and feelings associated with being the first lady on 9-11.
The Tabernacle Temple is progressing. Moroni watches over the city.
Provo is one place you can see the guardian angel!
This new gazebo is being built over the underground parking south of the temple.
