Our Annual Samoan Cousin Reunion was held August 30th. It was the best ever. :)
This is Crew and MaKi.
The lady in lace is Dad's cousin, Malea, standing near
her daughter, in blue. This was their first year to attend.
Hundreds of dollars of shells and a whole arsenal of guns
were used during the three hour trap, target practice.

MaKi is one that looks a little bit Samoan. :)
The Mellors joined us for the first time this year. :)

Haylie and Luke have a natural connection.
They are more than cousins, they are friends!
Chica is losing her baby hair but not her skunk tail. (3 month portrait)
Blake, Leslie and Lindsey were up visiting Tyler and Katie, so we got to
enjoy their company for a while. The Wilkins are good people!
Andrea makes friends with a very blue eyed, Samoan cousin named, Cub.
Aunt MaryLynn and Uncle Ron came down with Myra (white shirt) and
Austin came with all but one of his kids. We were delighted!
Once the chef...always the chef! (especially if you are good!)
Samoans in general take food quite seriously and we enjoyed that.
Come to think of it, that may be a family trait as well.
Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Dale attended for the first time. Uncle Dale was frail, weak and
a bit emotional, but at least he was here. (He has acute rheumatoid arthritis.)
This is our newest found cousin, Katrina Youd. (center) Her parents still live
in Samoa. We met her at her Dad's birthday party a few months ago.
Her husband (right) is my cousin through Emma Salina Youd! Small world!
Nathan and Sarah came and brought their family and so did Uncle Blaine and Aunt Laurel.
Andrea is not only the favorite aunt, but the favorite cousin as well. Thanks Andrea!
The cousins enjoyed being together. Rex (with the fro) and Hayden became
fast friends. When I asked Hayden if he knew his cousins name, he replied,
"No, he's just my cousin." That's what this whole event is all about!
You're probably noticing Sarah, Nathn and Austin, but----the real story is in the background.
This is the team on the south side of the net...(mostly Austin's kids)
Tyler was the full team on the other side. When I commented,
Audrey said, "That's so the game is fair. :)"
All I can say is when you got it, you got it! Tyler obviously has it. ;0) I am glad you started this tradition. My goal is to attend one day. :0)

ReplyDeleteMan, that was a splendid turn out! We are sad to have missed it, but glad that you documented it so well! :) Didn't know Uncle Dale was struggling so much. You'll have to keep us posted on all that kind of stuff.
