Shuler Reunion Visit (7/9/15)

Shuler Reunion:  I got an email in the morning on July 9
inviting me to the Shuler Reunion, in progress.  I decided there
was nothing I could do that day that was more important, so I took care
of a few things and headed up over Nephi Canyon...in the rain...and sleet!
The camp was just beyond Black Hawk Campground on the Nephi side.
It was a rainy, chilly day, so we mostly visited under a canapy.
Charlie, April, Bennett, and Uncle Richard.

 Camille and Kelly.

JT and two of his kids. This is Nate's boy Skylar, learning how
to hunt with a bow like Nephi of old.

 Justin and Tanner

Arm span is the method used in deciding what size of bow you need.

 Charlotte, Wendy and Sarah.

We talked, laughed, read poetry, and reminisced.

The group grew and grew as the afternoon went on.

Karl, Sharon and Aubry.        Lee is holding Summer's oldest daughter.

Sharon is holding Jed's newest baby.      Carson and Leah.

Let the bubble gum blowing contest begin.!

This is what a bubble gum smorgasbord looks like. :)

April was the undisputed winner of the largest bubble award.

 Get ready!

 Get set!

 Blow and blow!!!

 Carson was stiff competition.

I stayed until the cows came home.  Then I headed
down to work our ward's shift at the Ute Stampede.

Master Bath project is complete!

Dad tore EVERY THING out of the bathroom on June 29, 2015.  That was the day the remodeling project began in the only room of the house with original flooring.
Left: new cabinets delivered.
Right: New cabinets installed. (7/2/15)

Dad installed the cabinet top, sink and fixture.
I cleaned EVERYTHING, textured and painted the walls AND picked
out everything for Dad to install. We're a great team don't you think?

Dad also laid the porcelain tile flooring. Here he is putting mud
on the last piece of tile.  His expression is unclear as the
whether there was more pain or more joy at this point in time.

Then Dad discovered a great new way to really clean your toilet.

He also discovered a new way to clean your glasses, too.  :)

This is a "Hey thanks for my new power washer.  It works great!"

Meanwhile back at the master bath project. Dad
hung all the new hardware. (I supervised:)

How do you like the double towel rack?

The new show head is not on in this shot and you
can't see the new Halogen light panel.
That will be the surprise for when you visit.

Then...we put mirrors on the inside of the cupboard so
Dad could see the back of his head when he combs his hair.
(Sadly it did not increase the amount of hair to see!)

As you can tell..........
all is COOL and...............
beautiful here on the homestead.

July 4th, 2015

We attended the Flag Raising ceremony on the 4th.  The crowd was smaller than usual.
Such events aren't as popular with the raising generation, especially at 7:00 a.m.
Ryan and Ashton Pettit, with Jarom and Brian Ercanbrack.

The Pettit boys raise the flag: Jace, Brandon and Ashton.

Old Glory on July 4, 2015 in Levan.

Scout salute. Jace, Brandon and Ashton

 Jarom Ercanbrack

Steve Bateman was the speaker. His conclusion was...like Captain Moroni--- we have
a Title of Liberty.  It is our Flag and the principles upon which our nation was built.

After some work on our bathroom project, we went to a barbeque at Suazo's.

Dad enjoying some shade in his I-fish shirt.   Tony and Dad manned the grill.

Linda and her cousin, Sharon. (From Florida)

Sarah and her boys---Huckleberry, and Teddy.
Huck is only two!
