All of us were glad when Jake and Meghan got back to Levan.

August 3:  Katie and kids met  Andrea and Jordan at the Grotto in Payson Canyon, because Katie wanted to meet Jordan before heading back to Arizona.  During the day, I just had Jake’s kids while Darrel picked up Jake and Meghan at the airport. When Jake arrived, he took Luke, Leia, and Noa up Deep Canyon on the 4-wheeler.  They had the adventure of a life time!  On the way up, the thought came to Jake’s mind, “What would you do if something happened?”  He found it a bit odd, but knowing how the Spirit works, he did not dismiss it.  After crossing the creek, Jake noticed that something had crossed through and left a trail on the other side very recently.  They hadn’t gone far before he looked up the trail and saw 3 black bear cubs scrambling ahead of them.  Almost immediately he heard crashing through the brush and the Moma Bear appeared.  He might have said something he learned in the navy, but without hesitation, he hit reverse, spun around and opened the throttle up.  He told the kids to hang on and they did.  Fortunately, nothing happened and it was a delight to hear Luke tell about them being chased by the bear.
