Labor Day in Heber, Utah

Sept 4: Sarah-Jane and Hans were with their dad.   Darrel, Bethany and I decided to go up to the Sheep Dog Competition at Soldier Hollow, near Heber.  It turned out to be a really fun day.  I was amazed at the incredible training of the dogs and the precision teamwork with their owners.  We saw several side shows including a highland game competition.  We got pictures with the dog who 
stars in the Movie: The Stray, which opens on my birthday---Oct. 6th.  

It was a warm day, but very enjoyable.

There was alot to see besides the herding competition.

Several came to share information and stories 

about the wild animals in our area.

The Highland Game Competitions were amazing.

The dog diving and agility courses were fun to watch.

Of course the highlight was watching a dog trainer cue 

his/her dog in bringing a herd of wild sheep down through 

fields and gates, sort them and then corral them with no assistance 

other than a whistle.  Excellence in any field amazes me. 

The Bagpipe performers were excellent.
